VoIP Phone Systems for Small Business
Welcome to the future of phone communication
VoIP PABX systems can slash call costs as well as increase mobility and productivity.
Imagine being able to:
- Work from home and still take calls from the office.
- Cut your phone bill in half!
- Communicate with your office for FREE no matter where you are.
- Be able to offer staff the flexibility of working from home.
When it comes to VoIP phone systems there are 3 distinct types:
VoIP PBX Hybrid – this is the most popular choice and all the leading brands offer these hybrid solutions. This is where you get the proven reliability of existing phone system technology then add VoIP functionality to it.
The benefit is you are never exclusively reliant upon your data network for communication (i.e. if your internet is down for any reason, you will still be able to make phone calls and conduct business). Most clients opt for digital handsets (more reliable and cheaper) and then use VoIP phone handsets for remote users etc. This still gives you all the benefits at a fraction of the cost of a VoIP only solution. It also means that you can still use normal phone lines such as PSTN, ISDN, Primary rate as well as SIP trunking.

VOIP IP PBX that you control – this is a VOIP PBX that only operates with IP handsets (not digital) and still works with PSTN, ISDN, Primary rate or SIP trunking. The controller, or main telephone equipment is still installed in your site (like a normal phone system) so you control everything. The benefit is you still have the redundancy of normal phone lines for your communication however the additional costs of the IP handsets can make this system more expensive than the VoIP hybrid above.
VOIP IP PBX – this is a VoIP only phone system. You don’t have any main equipment (or controller) in your office like traditional phone systems and everything is managed by the phone call supplier. Your IP handsets connect via the internet back to another location. There are no normal phone lines and you do not control your own phone system. If your internet goes down then technically, so does your phone system. The benefit of an IP PBX is you can eliminate your PSTN & ISDN phone line rentals. VoIP carriers will still charge you for virtual VoIP line rentals but a lot less!
At Infiniti we offer all the leading small business VoIP PBX phone systems and all our leading small telephone systems are VoIP compatible except for the NEC Topaz.
